Or else people are not going to be your friend ,or they are going to say that you are a bad person and they are going to say bad stuff about you. But if you are not selfish people are going to be your friend and they are not going to say bad stuff about you. That is why you should not be greedy because i don't think anyone wants to be known as a greedy person. I think this story is a good influince for kids and parents not to be selfish.
